Welcome

2010 AGM: An Afternoon of Meaning!

Our Annual General Meeting was a big success this year. Our innovative process was very popular and opened up the riding association to all members. We emphasized and practiced sustainability, openness, and inclusiveness. It was held at the Wanuskewin Heritage Park, a traditional First Nations site just north of Saskatoon.

           The 2010 Fundraiser

The "SWNDP 2010 Fundraiser: The First Nations Perspective" was a huge success. 110 people attended and contributed over $1,200. It also marked the establishment of the Youth Empowerment Fund to send youth to convention. Peter Garden, the owner of Turning the Tide, had a book table set up and had a number of sales. Rosanna Parry had a gift-bag auction. The steak dinner at Mulberry's was excellent.

We would like to especially thank Rodolfo Pino and "Gabe Penna & The Rising" for their musical contributions.

Of course, our guest speakers were the highlight of the evening. Professor Anna Hunter and Justin Lasnier both provided interesting and though-provoking insight. We encourage you to check out the videos of their presentation below.

On behalf of the Saskatoon—Wanuskewin New Democratic Party executive, I would like to thank you for visiting our new website!

The SWNDP is dedicated to our mandate of building an effective riding association that embraces outreach and actively communicates with its members and the public. We work to present the aims of NDP policy to the people of Saskatoon—Wanuskewin.

We move towards this goal by hosting our annual fundraising event each spring, as well as having interesting and informative AGMs and nomination meetings.

I invite you to explore our website. We strive to present as much relevant information
as possible so that all see our progress. In the weeks to come we’ll be posting more and more content. For more policy-specific and national information please visit the federal party’s website too at ndp.ca.

If you’re convinced that we’re on the right track, we always need as much help as possible to boost our candidate to the top and instate a positive, innovative and caring Member of Parliament to represent your everyday needs in Ottawa. Donations are always appreciated and they are always put to work. Details on where we spend our money are listed on our “Donations” page. However if you have more time than money we need dedicated volunteers and activists to get more of our work done quicker and better. Check out the “Get Involved” page to learn more. Even just becoming a member of our party is a step towards the future and shows your support.

Once again, thanks for visiting and we look forward to hearing from you.

Catlin Hogan

President, SWNDP
