2009 NDP convention

Our 2009 bi-annual convention was a success! Visit ndp.ca to see Jack Layton's closing speech, which was truly inspiring. This year it was held in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Three delegates were sent from Saskatoon--Wanuskewin.

Convention includes policy debate, speakers (this year included several key people from Barack Obama's campaign as well as that of Darrell Dexter, the new NDP premier of Nova Scotia), caucus and commission meetings (these include women, the "Faith Commission," visibile minorities, Aboriginal and many others), and training workshops for activists.

If you'd like to know more about the happenings in Halifax, please contact us and we'll direct your quieries to one of our delegates.

Delegates for convention are selected at our Annual General Meeting, which is usually held in the spring. Resolutions for convention are also submitted at this meeting.
