Rosthern -- December 2009

On Monday, December 14th, 2009, John Parry and the SWNDP will be hosting a Town Hall Meeting in Rosthern, Saskatchewan, in order to connect with the area and its residents. The meeting will be to discuss the current federal issues and to better learn the locals' concerns. We will be providing them a mechanism to make their ideas heard by keeping minutes and creating an action plan to make them known and acted upon.

The preceding Saturday (December 12th), John Parry will be visiting Rosthern for the day to introduce himself to people and make himself available. Although we will be elsewhere in-town as well, he will be at the Station Arts' Centre Tea Room from 11am until 1pm, if you would like to meet him.

UPDATE:

John Parry's Saturday visit to Rosthern was very successful. We spent a couple of hours at the SAC Tea Room with some excellent coffee and delicious food talking with local NDP supporters and other Rosthern residents. We also visited the arena where a hockey tournament was taking place, and dropped leaflets (at doors as well as under windshield wipers) on four streets and the parking lot of the arena. Temperature with wind chill: below -40.

The meeting itself went well. John Parry and the SWNDP learned much from the participants and overall a great discussion took place. Thank you to those who came!
Below is our ad we are placing in the area's newspaper, the Sask Valley News, as well as a poster for the event.
